The official app for the premier grand slam in tennis is a textbook example how to build an efficient app for a sporting tournament. Like the Championships, the app too exudes a traditional approach, in a simplistic way. In addition to the usual features that any such app should have (tournament schedule, draws, live scores, results, latest news, multimedia and player profiles), the app also has a couple of pleasant surprises — using Live @ Wimbledon, you can listen to live commentary of the matches on the major courts, and Find It, which lets spectators locate facilities around the grounds at Wimbledon.

Yes, the Euro 2012 tournament is at its fag end, but still, this is one app that will help you keep the memories of the event alive. In addition to letting you keep track of the latest scores and news, you can also view videos of the matches by making in-app purchase. The app has one nifty feature that maybe the developers of Wimbledon could add on. It lets you select your favourite team and keeps you constantly updated on your team’s progress.

Temple Run: Brave

Given the following that Temple Run has, it is no surprise that Disney-Pixar chose to promote their latest release Brave with a game featuring the film’s character. It just replaces the explorers and monkeys of Temple Run with Merida, the princess, and the bear Mordu, and throws in an addition feature involving archery to make it even more attractive. On the downside, you experience a lag at times, and the visuals of Scottish woods, though pretty, make it difficult to see obstacles.
